Step 2: Painting the ceiling
Hairline, cracks and stains are common on ceilings but are easy to cover with Polycell Crack-Free Ceilings. Just use one coat to cover cracks permanently and stop them from reappearing. Stir the product well. Use a brush for the edge first, then apply to the rest of the ceiling generously using a short pile roller, careful not to overload it.
Step 3: Filling larger cracks and holes
Moving on to the wall, take care of any large holes with Polycell Multi Purpose Polyfilla. Brush away any loose material and clean the area before you get started. Mix in a ratio of two parts powder to one water. Pour in the powder into the water for an easy mix with the best results. Then, use a filling knife to press the Polyfilla into the hole before removing the excess by levelling off with a wet filling knife. Sand the area if needed for a perfectly smooth finish.
Step 4: Preparing the walls
If your walls have cracks, stains or strong colours, then give yourself a perfect foundation for decorating by covering them with Polycell 3 in 1 Base Coat. For best results, you should use a short pile roller. Stir the product well and pour it into a tray. Use a smaller brush to cover corners and edges. Then, lay it on the roller using long strokes that overlap slightly. Apply it generously but evenly to the wall. Finally, remove any splashes with a damp cloth.
