How To Prepare Cod Roe
Cod roe is a very versatile food, cooked and prepared in lots of ways! In this guide, C. J. Jackson, chef and principal of the Billingsgate Seafood School, shows you how to prepare a delicious cod roe taramasalata.

You Will Need
- 220 g smoked cod roe
- 1 slice of bread
- 1 clove of garlic
- 300 ml sunflower / olive oil blend
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- salt
- pepper
- 5 water
Method
Remove the membrane from the roe and put in a blender. Wet the slice of bread and add to the blender along with the garlic. Begin blending.
Once the roe and bread are pureed, start adding the oil slowly through the top of the blender while still blending, to emulsify the mixture. Check for seasoning and consistency at intervals, adding more oil / water until it is how you like it.
