How To Prepare For A Marathon
Ever been running and have to stop for a break 2 minutes in? Well, this video will tell you how to prepare your body for endurance of a marathon.
Hi, my name is Ricardo Macedo, and I am here today to give some good tips and show you how to do some exercise. We are in my gym in Kensington, London, W8, so you can find us on the website www.r-fitness.
co.uk, so come with me and we are going to show you some tips. Here we go.
How to prepare for a marathon or a half marathon. Rehearsal is very important, you should train on your long distance training where the course is going to happen, where the race is going to happen, that is going to get you get familiar with the course and make you feel at home. Another thing, the night before the race, the day before do not train, have a rest.
That way you will not jeopardize your fitness records, so a rest before the good take. Make sure you have all your gear prepared, everything packed the night before the racing. So that will avoid you to get stressed and the next morning, the morning of the race, make sure you have your shoes, your socks, your shorts, your top, your number, pins, safety pins to put them together, drinks before the race and after beverage.
Make sure you do your carb loading, that's very important and the day before, don't over eat it. That would be a mistake, so think overeating will not help you because that is not going to give you extra energy. This is for the foods to be properly digested, can be 36 hours so; less is more in that case.
Don't go to bed hungry, avoid alcohol at all costs. Some athletes have a glass of wine or little beer but I wouldn't recommend that. So avoid drinking alcohol, make sure you go to bed early, have a great rest and you are going to be ready for the next big day.
So, good luck. Follow the steps and I'm sure you're going to be ok. Take care. .
