Okay, so now I'm going to show you how to prepare quinoa. So first of all, you need basically about half a cup that will serve roughly about two people or a very large portion just for one person. So first of all, what you want to do is wash the quinoa because that will remove any dirt or any debris that's within it.

So, that's what you need to do right now, just give that a little wash. And then, while you're leaving the water to boil, because you'll need to put on the water to boil, you can just leave that to stand there and drain for a couple of minutes, and then what you need to do is just get your water on to boil, and then put in your stock as well, which we'll be doing, and then leave that to boil up, and then add the quinoa. Quinoa is not that common in a lot of households, but a lot of people have heard of it.

Quinoa is essentially a seed, not actually a grain, even though it's classed as a grain, and it's a very good alternative to white rice. Quinoa is excellent for vegetarians, for vegans, anybody really, also people who are sports people, because it's very high in protein, very high in calcium, and it has some B vitamins in it as well. You can use it for a number of dishes, including just as a replacement for white rice, you can use it in salads, you can cool it down and use it in salads, you can use it in tabule or you can even not cook it and sprout it, so you sprout it for a day and it'll grow a little tail, and that will boost the nutritional content even further as well, and then you can just eat it raw and then you can mix it up in a salad, and that will make an excellent side dish or in a compliment to a green salad.

It's prefect for that. So, that's how to prepare quinoa. But if you would like to learn how to cook quinoa, then watch our video on how to cook quinoa. .
