How To Prioritize Incoming E-Mail In Entourage

Using the priority function in Entourage can save you from missing an e-mail from a very important person. Prioritising incoming e-mails could be the difference between success and failure!

Step 1:

Tools and Rules

Once you've opened Entourage, move the cursor to the top of the screen. In the middle, you'll see the word "Tools". Click on that. When the menu drops down, click on "Rules". A box will open up.

Pick Your Mail Server

On the box, you'll see a row of options, Mail (POP), Mail (IMAP) and so on. Select the one you use; in this case, we'll use Mail (POP). Then move your cursor up a bit and click on "New".
Then move your cursor up a bit and click on "New". This new "Rule" can help us set up all the automatic functions on our e-mail client.
Name the rule something like,
"Priority - Big Important Client".

Choose Your "If"

Beneath the name of your new rule, you will see "If". Under the "if" area, click on the bar that says "All messages".
Click on "From". The next box will say "Contains". Leave that alone. In the empty field, write Big Important Client's name in.

Choose Your "Then"

Now you'll set Big Important Client to highest priority. Click on the bar on the right and select ""Change Priority"". When the bar to the right appears as ""Normal"", click on it and choose ""Highest"". Click OK.

Repeat this process for other contacts.
