How To Pull Off The Michael Jackson Circle Slide

You will need

Step 2:

Starting position

Start with your feet together, your back straight and your arms by your sides.

Step 3:

First move
-
Place your left leg a foot in front of your right. While putting most of your weight on your right leg slide your left foot back along the floor until it finishes behind the right.

Step 4:

Heel pivot
-
Lean your weight back into your heels and lift your toes up off the floor as before. Turn 90 degrees to the left before you bring your toes back to the floor. At the same time straighten your knees so your body is brought back up to the starting position.

Step 5:

Toe pivot

Next, lift your right heel off the floor and pivot on the ball of your foot 45 degrees to your right.

Step 6:

Slide

Slide your left leg back behind your right foot once again and pivot again on your heels.

Step 7:

Repeat
-
Repeat this sequence of moves until you are comfortable joining them up. This may take quite a bit of practice.

Arm position

Bring your arms in front of you with your palms parallel to the floor and your fingers pointing out to the side.

Step 9:

Shoulders
-
Keeping your back straight and your arms locked move your shoulders one at a time in a circular movement from the front to the back so that your shoulders rise and fall.

Step 10:

Timing
-
Integrate this arm movement into the step so that when you slide your left foot back . Your left shoulder should roll down and when you turn your left shoulder should come up again.

This may seem complicated but go back over this, adding the steps and moves one at a time and it won't be long until you've cracked it.
