How To Pull Your Hair Back
A professional hair designer explains step by step how to neatly pull your hair back, giving you tips to make your ponytail neater and shinier without all the bumps.
On this video, I'm going to be showing you how to pull your hair back. If your hair is quite slippery and quite clean, I suggest like a quick mist of hairspray just to give you a little bit of grip before you start. I'm going to be using the round brush first of all.
This is purely because of the amount of hair I have to put up. It will create a lot of bumps along the way. All we have to do is keep brushing the hair back into your hand.
I'm holding the hair in my left hand and using my right hand, which is my strongest hand, to get the control. Let's look in the mirror, and if you see anything that needs to be neatened up, then just do that as you work. Any kind of little stray hairs around your hairline can be neatened up after, so don't worry too much about that.
Just worry about getting the initial hair up in the first place. Now, if you got any little bits, along the way, that are just not as smooth, just literally go over that. Again, a little bit of hairspray for any little stray hairs.
If you want to cup your hair band, really easy technique, just take a section of hair from underneath your ponytail. I might need a slightly bigger one here because I've got a slightly thicker band. Then, all you need to do is just wrap that around the band until you run out of hair, and then secure it.
Leave out a couple little grips. Make sure this is all under the ponytail so no one can see this. You can always tack it on to the hair band if you want it to be extra secure.
And then, there you go. If you need to be super smooth, extra hairspray, or a little bit of shine if you want shine, spray if you want a little bit of gloss there. And that is how you pull your hair back. .
