Okay, so I'm going to talk to you today about how you or your child could pursue a career in ballet. Now firstly, obviously, you need to find a class and a tutor and preferably if you've been dancing since a young age, your tutor can help guide you on the path and hopefully give you great advice as to how you could become a ballet dancer. There's a lot of things physically that you need to have to become a ballet dancer - great flexibility, great balance, great poise, really hardworking attitude as well and then, once you get to hopefully starting at a young age, once you get to 16, you'll be looking at wanting to take a career further.

You'd need to look at auditioning for fulltime ballet schools. So from there, there are plenty of ballet schools that have regular auditions that you could have a look at on the internet. So, there'd be places like the Royal Ballet, English National, Central School of Ballet, just to name just a few in London alone.

They all have yearly auditions and hopefully with such success, you could get into one of those schools and also do your A levels at the same time so you don't miss out on the all-important education. So, when you finish your ballet training at your higher educational college, you want to then step out into the world of ballet. There are plenty of dance companies out there that would be looking for new talent and so, always send in your CV up with a good headshot and call up companies and see if they've got apprentice schemes as well.

It's a good idea but always, with ballet, it's very competitive so don't shut the doors to any other style of dance, too. You've got contemporary, physical theatre, there's cabaret, or even set up your own company, so the doors will never be closed if you want to go and knock up. And those are my tips for pursuing a career in ballet. .
