How To Put Backspin On A Golf Ball
A very informative video from Mark Barlow demonstrating tips on how to improve your golf game! This particular video gives step by step tips on how to put backspin on a golf ball.
Hi there! Today, I'm going to teach you how to put a backspin on a golf ball. Step 1 is to transfer a little bit of weight across the left hand side, so that 60 to 70 percent of our weight is on our left foot. From a normal golf setup position, we just need to open up the club very slightly, and then re-grip it and also draw our left foot back so the body is very slightly open.
Step 3 is to cock the wrist immediately on the back swing. You can see that the club head has moved a long way, and my arm hasn't moved very far. Step 4 is to make the swing, making sure that the hands leave the club head all the way through impact.
Step 5 is to make sure that we catch the ball just before the ground, and we make an accelerating swing into the ball. To do this, make sure you don't swing back too far, and that you're accelerating nicely into the golf ball. Okay, so the first thing to remember is that we transfer about 60 to 70 percent of our weight to the left hand side.
We open up the club and the body just a touch, that we break the wrist immediately on the back swing, and we leave with the hands going through. And finally, to make a nice accelerating swing through the golf ball. And that's how to backspin on a golf ball! .
