How To Put Spin On A Golf Ball

How To Put Spin On A Golf Ball

For all you golf lovers out there, here are some simple instructions on how to put spin on a golf ball.

In this video today, I'm going to talk to you about putting spin on a golf ball. And that includes both back spin and side spin. And the best way to increase back spin is to make sure that the angle of attack of the club into the ball is nice and steep as opposed to shallow.

So, step one, to increase back spin involves actually putting a little bit more weight on the left hand side and keeping it there throughout the swing. Two involves opening the club and body slightly. What this does, is it allows the club to come into the ball in a slightly steeper angle of attack.

And because we open the face, it stops the club digging into the ground. Step three involves breaking wrist immediately on the back stroke. Step four involves making sure the hands leave the club heading into impact and just trusting that your correct set up and swing will produce the desired effect.

Step five is to make sure we catch the ball before the ground and hit the ball with an accelerating blow. And to do this, we take a relatively short back swing and make sure accelerate through the ball all the way to the finish. The next section is on how to achieve side spin on a golf ball.

To curve a ball from right to left, all we need to do is cut slightly across the golf ball. To do this from our normal set up position, all we need to do is pull back the left foot, just a touch, open up the club face a little bit and then make a normal swing across the new body line. And after opening up the club face, just remember to re-grip it.

If you want to curve the ball from right to left, all you have to do is cut across the golf ball the opposite way. So, to do this, all we need to do is draw our right foot back slightly and close the club face a little bit, remembering to re-grip it once we close the club face. So, in summary, to increase back spin, all we need to do is increase the angle of attack of the club into the ball.

And to produce side spin, we need to change our foot position and our grip. And that's how to put spin on a golf ball. .
