How To Read A Tape Measure
Reading a tape measure is just an easy task provided you know how to! This 2-minute video shows exactly that, making it easier for you to get going about it!
I'm now going to show you how to read a tape measure. But, firstly, you need to know how to use it. If you pull it out, you will find there's a hook on the end.
This is ideal from the point of measuring this bench that will hook on the end. You can pull this to any direction. It has a locking button here.
Push the locking button down. You can leave it. So, now, you need to know how to read it.
Continue the tape right to the end of the bench. You will see that is in inches and centimetres. Once you're hooked on one end and you're right at the end, you can see where the tape stops.
Choose which measurement you want out of inches and centimetres. We can also do internal measurements. This time, the hook will be on the inside or further up there is, the better I can see.
So, that's 52 centimetres or 22 and 3 quarter inches. You can also use a tape measure for measuring heights as well as widths. Open the tape.
Make sure it's firmly on the floor. If you want, hold that in position if you need to. Remember, you have inches on one side and centimetres on the other.
Up to the top and we can see the depth is 96 centimetres and 37 three-quarter inches. And that is how to read a tape measure! .
