Place your leftover rice, water, salt, pepper and butter in a bowl and mix.
Cover the bowl with cling film and cook it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove the cling film and mix the rice. Re-cover the bowl with cling film and return to the microwave for a further 30 seconds.
Test the rice to make sure it's hot enough; if it's not, you can cook it for a further 30 seconds.
