How To Relieve Chronic Lower Back Pain

My name is Dirk Laubscher. I have been a physiotherapist for the last ten years. I work in Harley Street for the last six, and today I am going to talk to you guys about the causes and the management of back pain.

How to relieve chronic back pain. If you want to know more about the causes of the chronic back pain, you can just go and view the section about the guide to chronic back pain and treatment. To relieve chronic back pain, in my experience, you know what the base is, firstly to mobilize the spine.

Most chronic back pains sufferers have very stiff backs, basically. So, what you do is that you have to make sure that's loose. We mobilize the spine which means we move it using that up, we manipulate the spine and cracking up the spine if, that is, if you allow us to.

We also work on the muscles, the tight muscles. We get rid of the tightness. We use deep tissue massage for that, trigger point massage.

We can really use, try needling. We got to basically put a needle into the stiff muscles. We work down into the hips.

Most chronic back pain sufferers have very tight hip muscles, as I described before. So, it is very important to get the trigger points out of the hips and one thing that's missed a lot is the hamstring tightness. Most chronic back pain sufferers again have got very tight hamstrings.

Unless we stretch that, unless you stretch that everyday, unfortunately, you might suffer with chronic back pain for a long time. I know it's a reasonable thing but it is important to stretch your hamstrings everyday. Go ask your physiotherapist how to do that or your personal trainer if you go to the gym.

All right, and the last thing to get through of it is strengthening. We have to strengthen the lower back and the stomach muscles in order to relieve chronic back pain. Remember, it's not the same as to cure if you had it for many years and a long time.

Unless you strengthen the back and the stomach, you will not get better. .
