You have to use the right kind of products for your face as your skin can be very sensitive to harsh products. Always get the advice from your GP or dermatologist before buying any products.
There are various ways in how you can actually remove acne. There are some very conventional options, you can go to your GP, you can go to your dermatologist and ask for what would be more suitable for you. One of the options is antibiotics.
There's a wide range of antibiotics available, however, it should never be considered as a long term treatment. The other thing you can ask your doctor to discuss with you are retinoids. Retinoids are vitamin A derivatives.
There are internal Retinoids such as roaccutane. What they do is they actually decrease the fatty layer in your subdermis which is actually your subdermis and actually reduce follicular plugging. You can use retinoids Vitamin A derivatives topically.
They come in various forms and again you have to use them very carefully. You get them from your GP, from your dermatologist and what they do again is literally just dry out your skin a little bit and that, in the long term, can have some side effects. Over the counter products, for example, are Benzoyl Peroxide, also known as BPO, what it actually does, it releases the free radical oxygen into your follicle and it deals with the bacterial infection of acne.
There is another product you can use which is perhaps a little bit not as well known, which is azelaic acid, and you would get from your dermatologist or your doctor. It works pretty much like the BPO, the benzoyl peroxide, by again releasing oxygen into your follicle and deal with the acne that way. So, I personally prefer actually billow bark extract and again, it comes in a little jar and what you do is you use always a cotton bud to actually extract the cream out of the jar.
Never use your hands with any cream or any product you may buy off the shelf as well. Reasons being we have bacteria in our hands and obviously, they would affect the product and will cause bacterial growth in the product itself. Use a very gentle product, ideally sort of a creamy sort of cleanser.
Now, I use normally an aloe vera based cleanser. It can have a little bit of marigold in it as well, sometimes gotu kola. Again, use a little cotton bud just to extract the wash cream out of the jar and apply it onto your skin with your hands with a little bit water.
Take a little face brush. You can buy those over the counter, pretty much everywhere. You just put the face brush under warm water and very gently brush your skin in circular motions with the wash on it.
Make very sure to wash the brush with soap and water to disinfect it. Dry it well and then obviously a rinse off the wash off your skin. Then, tone your skin.
I personally prefer yarrow based toner. Yarrow is an antiseptic herb in a water base. Shake the bottle a little bit, give your skin a few sprays then pat it in, gently into your skin.
Then use the billow bark extract. Put a little cotton bud into the billow bark extract and just gently dab it literally onto the spots you have. Just a tiny amount, not a lot, leave it for a minute, then after that, use a face cream just to hydrate your skin.
It's very important that you hydrate the surrounding skin, then it doesn't become too sore and dry. Now, never use a fat base, use a water base. Again, extract a little bit out of the jar and just apply it onto your skin very gently.
Once a week, I would use also an exfoliator. I personally prefer my kiwi exfoliator, it's very, very gentle. If you buy some things from the shops, make sure it's not too harsh on your skin and the granules are not too big.
Put a little bit on to your skin with a bit of warm water. You can actually use your hands to apply or again you can use your face brush just to gently massage all into your skin. Wash it off very well and make sure to hydrate your skin with a water based cream afterwards. .
