How To Remove An Antivirus Program

Hi, I'm Danny from PC Paramedics and today I'll be showing how to remove a simple antivirus program. Okay. To start we're going to click on start and get rid of our antivirus program.

So, start, and then we're going to go to control panel. The control panels on Windows Vista and Windows XP are in exactly in the same place. So then to control panel here, okay, so in Windows XP to remove a program you would click Add Or Remove Programs.

In control panel all the icons are in alphabetical order. In Windows Vista it's not called Add Or Remove Programs, it's called Programs and Features. Okay, once we've open Add Or Remove Programs, it'll take a few seconds to create a list of all the programs on your PC.

Today we are removing BitDefender Antivirus 2009. So I'm going to scroll down the list to find BitDefender Antivirus and click Remove. Okay, once clicked remove make sure you want to remove BitDefender Antivirus from your computer.

Yes. This process will now start to remove BitDefender from my computer. Although we are removing BitDefender Antivirus today it would only be recommended to remove your antivirus program reinstalling another antivirus program.

Okay, this is taking a few moments to remove. It looks for the files associated with BitDefender, finds those and deletes them for you. At this point all you need to do is wait.

Okay, once this process is finished it'll ask you if you want to restart your computer. You simply click Yes to restart your computer. It will reboot and BitDefender will now be removed.

And that's how to uninstall BitDefender Antivirus from your computer.
