Step 1: You Will Need

  • undiluted lemon juice
  • cold water
  • unseasoned meat tenderizer
  • moist wipes or baby wipes

Step 2: Wipe Out

We know it's easier said than done, but make an effort to treat the stain immediately. This way, you may be able to get away with treating the stain with a moist wipe and cold water only. Wipe the stain with the moist wipe and rinse under cold water.

Step 3: Let The Sun Shine

If you're treating white, washable clothing, saturate the stain with undiluted lemon juice and put the item in the sun.

Step 4: Tender Moments

It may seem a little odd, but meat tenderizer is a powdered enzyme product that's great at treating many protein stains. You can use this step for stains made from mother's milk too. Mix enough water to the powder to make a paste and apply it to the stain. An old toothbrush works great for this. Let set for 30 minutes, brush away the paste and launder as usual. Just don't use heat to dry the item until the stain is completely lifted.
