How To Remove Cigarette Odor From Your Car
Cigarette smoke is not only harmful, it can leave bad odors lingering for weeks. If want to kill the stale odor of cigarette smoke in your car, don't use an air freshener. The chemicals in commercial air fresheners can cause irritation to your skin, eyes and respiratory system and cover up odors rather than removing them. Follow these easy steps to find out how to get rid of cigarette smoke odor the cheap and eco-friendly way.
Step 1: Get Soaking
Put one towel in each of plastic bowl and pour in white distilled vinegar until the towels are soaked. Using white distilled vinegar is safe, highly effective and very inexpensive. If you have a bigger car and really strong odors, you can use as many bowls filled with vinegar-soaked towels as you feel necessary.
Step 2: Location Is Everything
Put your plastic bowls with the vinegar-soaked towels near the ashtray and in the backseat and leave them overnight. The vinegar will absorb the cigarette odors from your car and when you remove the bowls, the smell of vinegar and the old cigarette smoke will be gone.

err, don't smoke?
Great video. this a Quick fix, but it's not a permanent solution. The odors will come back. Especially cigarette odors if they get into your air-conditioning system. Most odors are caused by some sort of chemical compound, bacteria, fungus or mold. I recently discovered a new product that eliminates the odor at the source completely . Not by masking it but it actually destroys the compound that causes the odor. By doing this it not only gets rid of the odor, but it sanitizes the interior of your car, improving the air quality in the cabin. This is truly the only way to get rid of the odor. The product is called auto vaccine. You can find it on a website http://www.BiocideSystems.com. They also have a product called Room Shocker, which is great for apartments and houses.
Wow! Vinegar is amazing stuff. Thanks.
Instead of vinegar, use coffee grounds in the bowls. Came from a friend who sold used cars!
I wonder if this would work in my apartment. The tenant before me was a chain smoker and we have been trying a year to get the stench out.
