Step 1: Black Or White

For coffee with milk or cream, rinse the stain first with cold water, then with hot water before washing as directed by the care label.

Step 2: Soda Please

Cover wet stains with baking soda to absorb excess moisture.

Step 3: Blot The Spot

After shaking off the baking soda, mix together 1 cup of white vinegar, 1 Tbsp of clear or white dishwashing liquid and 1/2 cup of cool water. Use an absorbent cloth underneath the stain to prevent transferring the stain to other fabric or surface. Blot the mixture onto the stain with a light colored cloth. It is important to not rub too hard. Scrubbing the area could cause the fabric to fuzz up or fray, which usually leads the area to be more noticeable than if it were stained. Let the mixture set on the stain for 15 minutes before washing as indicated on the care label.

Step 4: Boiling Point

If the stain hasn't disappeared by now, try this. Stretch the stain over a heat-proof bowl or bucket, secure with a rubber band, then pour hot to boiling water over the stained area. Your last step should always be washing and drying your garment as you would normally. Just be sure to never dry your garment if the stain is still there.
