If you smear hand cleaner, the type you find with automotive items, and was in the hottest water possible, you will be amazed that it removes all grease and/or oil.
Skip all the steps & save time. Spray some Oil Eater Cleaner Degreaser on the stain & throw the clothes in the washer. All gone.

That is funny, I was just going to write that EVEN the cheap stuff works! This video saved my life, I had the unfortunate accident of spilling popcorn oil all over my favorite summer dress and this video helped me remove it using cheap dishwashing liquid AND cheap dishwashing detergent! Thank you so much, my dress looks perfect, there isn't even a hint of the popcorn oil left behind!
This works if you use a decent washing up liquid (like the one used in the video). Cheap liquids don't work.
I keep washing up liquid in a liquid soap dispenser close to the washing machine, especially for the washing. If you apply light pressure to the plunger, a small amount of washing up liquid comes out, and you rub this into the stain using the nozzle. Then you wash as usual. It works every time.
