You would get static hair when your hair's dehydrated. That means it's lacking moisture and it's lacking moisture because it is either being coloured too much, being blow dried too much or central heating, air conditioning, the basic environment will damage or dehydrate your hair. So, to put moisture back in, you need to do some moisturizing treatments at home and make sure you're using correct shampoo and conditioner.

Also to help with static, when you're blow drying, it's a really good idea to use a bristled brush. I like to use one that's a mixture of bristle and nylon so the bristle will smooth down the cuticle and seal the moisture into the hair and the nylon will help the brush grade easier to the hair as well. And as you're drying the hair, you need to make sure that your hair dryer is facing down the hair shaft because your cuticles are like fish scales and if you do it this way, you'll help close down the cuticle as you're drying the hair and that will keep your hair more static free.

Once you're finished blow drying the hair, you can either use your straightening irons to smooth down the cuticles even more but what that would do is actually dehydrate your hair quite a bit, so at the end, you would need to use a serum or some sort of moisturizing product, just a really light spray throughout the hair and keep going with a really great brush and that will remove the static effect on your hair throughout the day. That's how you remove and avoid having static in your hair. .
