How To Remove Warts

Dr. Ross Perry, medical director of Cosmetic Skin Clinic, briefly describes and demonstrates how to remove a facial wart using cryogenic therapy.

I'm going to show you how to remove a simple wart that is on the patient's face. It's a common, simple treatment to do and one that only takes a few seconds. The treatment we're going to use today is called cryotherapy or freezing of the wart.

It often requires one or two treatments and the wound often heals after three to four days. The treatment is very quick and simple, and often leaves no scar, whatsoever. Warts are typically caused by a virus and commonly found on the hands and fingers but they can also occur on other parts of the body and particularly around the chin and face areas.

Today, I'm going to show you how to remove a facial wart using cryotherapy or freezing of the wart. This is a simple, quick, easy treatment that kills the wart with one or two treatments and leaves almost no scar. We've just finished freezing the wart.

This will take two to three days for the wart to fall off and after that, another couple of days for the slight redness to disappear. This will leave no scarring and the wart will be completely gone. Occasionally, a second treatment is required particularly for a little bit more resistant or a little bit bigger, but that's how we remove a simple wart with cryotherpy.
