How To Repair Damaged Hair
In this video, a hair care expert gives an overview of the different types of hair damage and shares some tips on how to repair damaged hair and keep it nice and strong.
Today, we're going to talk about how to repair damaged hair. There are loads of different types of damage you could do to your hair. You could do the external damage where your cuticle layer is a little bit razed and it's lacking moisture.
You can do internal damage where you're breaking down the hair shaft as well. Now, to repair the hair shaft, you need to actually start doing protein treatments. So, in our salon here, we have various protein treatments suitable for your hair type and also your timescale or how much time you have.
One of the really good ones at the moment is either we can call it the Brazilian or the keratin blow dry. That will put all the protein back in your hair and also make the maintenance at home to a minimum so you're not putting stress on your hair on a constant daily level. These other treatments we can do, I'm using the Intense Rx.
This is leave-on wearable treatment so this is really good to use every time you blow dry your hair. You just use one tiny palm, work on a section of hair, and what you want to do is if you're using a product, you want to rub it into the hair shaft and use it on damp hair, then you can blow dry that product down and that will product will fill into the hair and help notch it that way. If you start using moisturizing treatments on hair that's really damaged, all you're going to do is still have hair that's weak, it's just going to be soft and almost like mushy in a way.
So, what you want to do is put the protein in first and then once your hair's nice and strong, you can work on the moisture level of the hair which will keep that looking soft and shiny on the outside. And that's how you repair broken damaged hair. .
