How To Return Serve In Squash
The first area that you have to be good at to be a good squash player is in returning the serve. Here is a video clip that gives a birds eye view on how to return your opponents serve.
Hi, my name is Bob Jaffe. I am the director of coaching at the Dulwich Squash Club in London. We are one of the top twenty clubs in the country and the current Kent champions for the third year running.
We cater for all levels of ability from our world rank players right down to the beginner level. I am going to talk to you about the equipment you are going to need, the etiquette you are going to use on court and the sort of shorts that you are going to need to play and how you are going to play them. For return of service you need to position yourself in the middle of the service box.
That position is just to the side and behind the back of the serving box. Standing at a slight angle, once again looking at what your opponent is about to deliver to you. So always make sure that you are ready, on the tips of your toes, ready to react to whatever serve comes your way.
