This video will explain and also show you tips on how to successfully switch from left to right while riding a wake board on the water.
Hi, I'm Brett Hodgkins, one of the instructors here at Princes Club for wake boarding. Basically today, I'm going to give you a few tips and talk about how to ride your wake board. When you're actually up and riding your wake board, your basic stance is plenty of weight on your front foot, maybe 70 percent, elbows in nice and tight.
When you want to start to move around on the board, start pressing on your toes to make the board go your toes side while actually turning the board in a direction you want to go. When you're doing this, you also want to be trying to push the handle a little further around your hip so you don't trip over your front edge. When you want to make the turn and go heel side, same thing, handle in, nice elbows tight, start pressing on your heels, and again point the board in the direction you want to go.
Your heel side turns easiest. The toe side turn is the hardest. From this point, we start working on our switch, which is riding the other way.
When you're beginning, it's always good to ride switch as soon as you can, so then you won't have to go back to it. So there's a few tips for you on how to ride your wake board. Remember, always wear your life vest and have a good time out on the water. .
