This VideoJug presentation features step-by-step instructions on roasting peanuts as well as tips on how peanuts can be added to different recipes.
Today, I am going to show you how to roast peanuts. It is quite easy and very tasty. However, you can eat raw peanuts as well, but I think, maybe in moderation.
Now, peanuts are not actually nuts at all, and they are grown underground which is quite interesting. That is why they are also called ground nuts. Now, put in as many as you feel comfortable with.
Maybe a small dish like this is enough for two to three people. You can roast them with their shells on or you can de-shell them, first of all, but I think it is quite nice and fun to keep the shells on, it is quite sociable when you are all sitting there opening up your peanuts. It is just quite nice and fun.
Pop your peanuts in the oven for maybe about ten minutes, and put them on a hundred and ninety to two hundred degrees. Now, the trick is to keep turning them, so every couple of minutes, go to the oven and give the peanuts a bit of a shake. They could take up to twenty minutes with their shells on, so these peanuts have just been roasting nicely for about fifteen minutes with their shells on.
Peanuts contain about thirty nutrients, so they are a really good healthy snack. They are also a really good thing to chuck into different recipes. Add them to stir fries, you can make gorgeous soups with peanuts added to them, put them in your salads, and also even make your own peanut butter which tastes fantastic.
Hope you enjoy them. .
