Hi! I'm Stuart Thomas, I'm here at Roller City and I'm going to teach you how to roller skate. Now I'm going to show you how to skate backwards on blades. What you need to do is start with your toes in and your heels out.
first of all you want to push your heels out just past your shoulder width and then pull them back in. remember not to knock your two skates together or you're going to trip over. Once you get to about underneath your shoulders, you want to push your heels back out again.
Just past your shoulders, bring them in and push them back out again, keeping the momentum going. Once you've got that momentum going remember to look over your shoulder because there could be people behind you skating. Once you've got that going you can then progress by keeping one foot behind you.
Once you've got that you can then cross your feet over which would then give you more width for carving, you will be able to control and pick up speed quicker. Remember to look over your shoulder. Once you've got that going, you can then add your own touches.
So you can then lean both feet together and make them follow each other and then you'll find you can do your own way of skating. And that's how to skate backwards on blades.
