How To Set Hair In Hot Rollers

This video demonstrates an important hair styling technique: how to put your hair in heated rollers. This creates a thick volumized look that gives your hair more body and curl.

Firstly, I've just slightly blow-dried the underneath of the hair because I don't really want to set that in heated rollers, because it is a bit too short for it. I'm going to start my section from just behind the ear. I'm going to section the hair from the back of the ear to the middle on both sides and start working the rollers into the hair.

You need to work the rollers in the same direction that you want to movement to go into the hair. We're going to start with the smallest rollers on the underneath first. Make sure your heated rollers are switched on for about twenty minutes before as well.

That gives them time to heat up. I'm going to take my first roller and make sure it's nice and tight. I'm going to use a pin tail comb and pull it tight, just wrap it under and make sure it's nice and straight through there.

You don't want any ends to buckle when you're putting rollers in. Otherwise, you're creating kinks in the hair. You want it all to run smoothly into itself.

Hold it nice and tight. Just secure it into place. Keep the hair in nice and tight as you roll it down, and keep the roller on top of your sections, so you can create maximum volume as well.

You want it to be nice and tight on the section. Finish putting the rollers in the hair, just following the same technique, working the hair backwards off the face into this little section. The hair is quite layered, so it's hard to get all the hair in, but just do your best to get them in and get the rollers nicely secured.

We're going to let them cool down, and I'm going to put some hair spray in before I start taking them out. Remove them gently, you can see the volume starting to come together all over the head. That would be how to use heated rollers. .
