How To Set Up Friend Codes On 3DS

I'm going to be telling you how to set up friend codes on the 3DS. Unlike the Wii, the 3DS friends system will operate through every game so you just set it up once. The friend codes on the 3DS enable you to specify who can access your information online, what your favorite games are.

Also, as you're setting it up, you specify a profile for your 3DS. It's important to set this up before you play your 3DS. To set up someone with a friend code on your 3DS, you go to the friends list setting which is at the top of the home screen.

It's here that you can see all of your friends that you've set up. For each one, you can see their name at the bottom of the screen, and at the top, you can see their favorite titles, and their friend code. To register a new friend, what you need to do first is send them your friend code.

If you select the first code in the friend list, which is you, send it to them, perhaps by email. When you get their code back from them, come back to the screen, tap register friend, select internet. Then, all you have to do is enter your friend's code into the box provided, then set a nickname for them.

You can now see them online and what they're playing. That's how you set up a friend code on the 3DS.
