How To Set Your Zune's Online Status

While one of your Zune's coolest features is its ability to locate and share with other Zune's, sometimes you just want some privacy. We'll tell you how to set your Zune so it only tells people what you want them to know.

Step 1: Go Wireless

Choose settings from your main menu and scroll down to "wireless." You can turn your wireless setting off, if you don't want other users to be able to see your Zune at all, or if you want to conserve battery power.

Step 2: Set Your Status

Scroll down the settings menu until online status is highlighted. If your wireless is turned on, you can choose how much information others can see about your Zune…switching it to "detailed" allows them to see everything, including what song you're listening to. Turning it to basic just tells them if you are online or busy.
