How To Sew Baby Bibs
In this Video Jug clip, Cecilia from Homemade London gives the steps to be followed for sewing a baby bib. Right from selecting the required fabric, she tells all the sewing steps that need to be followed for stitching your own baby bib.
So to start, you need a stitching fabric and scissors, measuring tape, chalks and some pins to help you as well. For this baby bib, I have used an existing baby bib as a template. All you need to do is trace the outline with a chalk on the fabric you have chosen.
So, today, we are going to have a contrast of a just cotton printed fabric and also a table towel. Use the contrasting color binding to go all the way around and then we are going to finish off the proper fastening. To ease your sewing stage, we are going to pin this binding to the 2 layers of the fabric.
We repeat this for all the way around and that will help you to bring the two layers and the binding in one shape. Okay, so once you have actually pinned all the binding all way around , you can start top stitching making sure the two layers and the binding are joined together and start sewing. So, we are coming towards the end, make again, making sure the fabric is at the middle of the binding and then as you can see, we are going to open up where we start off.
Once we finish the sewing stage, take your poppers separate from the pack and then all we are going to do now is to attach the poppers by using a hand sewing needle and stitch around the poppers. Repeat for the same from the other side. So once you have sewn both sides of the popper, you have your baby bib. .
