How To Shave Your Underarms
Who knew that a fashion trend in 1915 would spark off an underarm shaving frenzy among well-heeled women of America. Well, thank goodness for shaving master Danielle Malka. She'll give us some long-lost techniques for achieving soft and hairless underarm through shaving.
Step 1: Prep Your Skin
It's a lot easier to shave after you've taken a bath or shower. If you don't want to feel any stubble hours after your shave, don't skip this step.
Step 2: Oil Up
Lightly massage pre-shave oil onto your underarm
Step 3: Brush Up
Gently dip the moistened brush tip into a pot of quality shaving cream. The shaving brush bristles will lift the hair up off the skin.
Step 4: Lather Up
Moving the brush in small circles. The foam will build into a rich lather and should end up feeling like whipped cream.
Step 5: A Light Hand
Beginning in the middle of your underarm, slowly shave with the grain-not against. Don't press down hard - keep the pressure light and easy.
Rinse your blade. Don't cheat on this step either-hair caught in the blade will only interfere with the next shaving pass.
If you didn't get all the hairs on the first round, apply shaving cream again and shave sideways, using small strokes to prevent irritation.
Step 6: Soothe Your Skin
Rinse and dry your underarms.
Lightly rub the moistened alum block onto your underarm. The alum's astringent properties closes pores, disinfects the skin, and acts as a natural deodorant.
Tips & Comments
you can do it by sugar, that leads no darkening and cleans the skin from dead cells
shaving often leads to darkening of the skin.. wats the solution?
well im not a "shaving master" but while im in the shower, i just rub a pit of 'olay ribbons' body wash thats not expensive about7-8$ a bottel and then i have a 'venus tropical disposables' razor and try to shave in all angels to get every hair and it works out just fine.
I just use the blades with the moisturizing soap around them, they can last a while and the best thing I find is just to shave everyday and stroke the hair with the blade from different angles to make sure you get all the hairs! :)
where the hell do you get alum block? cant you use something else instead?
um, people.... she didn't have hair because they had to do several takes, duh. and who would wait like 2 days just so you guys could see stubble? jeez.
the model scares me! she's way too thin to be human.
I always get a "5 o'clock shadow" under my arms... little stubbles that escape the blade. I wish they had addressed that.
yes, i agree, i'd like to see waxing tips. Many people are waxing their underarms themselves and it's hard. Not to mention dangerous and disastrous when done wrong!
alum block ?
