How To Shoot A Lacrosse Ball

To shoot a lacrosse ball is a scenario of running and shooting at the same time. It requires hand and feet positioning. The following are techniques on how to score in lacrosse.

So, I'm just going to run through the basics of taking a shot. So again, it's all about our hand position and your feet position. So again, if you're right handed, you want you basic arms so your hips is shoulder width apart and what the aim is, you just stand side on the goal right handed.

So if you're facing the goal, you look and your body needs to be aligned where you shoot. Obviously, I'm right handed, so we get a nice low base and then it's much like a - I mean, a lot of people don't - like in baseball, they get low and take two steps and then release like that, so that's kind of the basic motion so you want to get quite low and then we take in two steps and then follow in through. Now, the stick needs to be aiming where you want the ball to go.

So again, if I'm left handed, again this is the back, nice and low, position like you get all your powers through your hip, you take two short steps and then follow in through and again, point distantly on the go, just as much practice as you can get, nice and low and then, right handed will be a bit faster at full speed. That's your basic motion. I mean, that's a stationary shot so after we master a timer room shot, we move on to a running shot.

So basically, when you're being marked by a defender, just keep the goalie moving. A lot of those famous like in football, if you want to cut a move, so he has no idea of where the shots are going to go, the basics' the same. The hands are the same as well.

But as you're running, you basically got time in your strides. You run along and just count your strides, one, two, and then eventually throw that at time and you just follow through the stick on where the ball is going. So, what I'll do, I'll just run through a few and you can obviously watch and see the motions.

So basically, shoot on the run. It's about having confidence, a lot of speed going in, keep the basics right, and just shoot hard and you shoot the net. Don't look through the goalie, try and pick a corner down the sides and again, practice makes perfect.

It's just keep trying and trying and eventually, you'll score every time. .
