How To Sing The Blues
Blues music has such a great feel but if you want to be singing the blues, find out in this video whether it is the genre for you.
Hi, I'm Sonia Jones. I'm a professional singing teacher and I'm going to give you tips and advice on how to sing. Blues.
Think Billie Mae Thornton. You just need to feel it, so there's no dancing technique involved. You've just got to feel it in your soul.
So, with this technique, close your eyes and just feel the music. It's less to do with mouth shapes or techniques but it really is a feel from inside and you've either got it or you haven't. But to improve it, it is you really have to do use your diaphragm because it really is from deep inside, the emotion of it and I'll give you an example.
So, it's such a feel thing. So again, if it's not natural, please look elsewhere for your singing. Try a pop or R&B.
This is definitely just a feel way of singing. You can't teach it. So if you are going to be a blues singer, I suggest you listen to the great jazz singers as well like Ella, Sarah Vaughan, you know, as well as the blues singers like Ray Charles, because they go hand in hand together, so it would be a very good tip to listen to them both.
And that's how to sing the blues. .
