Hi. My name's Desmond Aspill, and I've been teaching gymnastics for 20 years, and today we're going to break down some of the difficult elements of gymnastics so that it's more approachable. With techno-gymnastics, we try to make things more approachable, building confidence, and making gymnastics fun.
Approaching a front somersault, the tight tuck in the air creates rotation, a good strong lift, or a good rebound, gets you up there, and then it's just landing. So, a front somersault. So, approaching the front somersault, you have to take a really good drive off the floor, direct it by driving your arms up, rotate by pulling a tight tuck, and land, being careful not to take off with your shoulders too far forward, as that results in landing on your bottom.
