How To Spot Modelling Scams / Modeling Scams

This video aims to warn girls with dreams of being a model not to fall prey on modelling scams and teaches you how to spot one.

Hi, my name is Renee Barca, I work at IMM Model agency. I'm going to speak to you, about how modeling industry was. I'm going to speak to you about how to spot a modeling scam.

Unfortunately in modeling agency world, where there are no regulations, as soon as there's a business, anybody can own an agency, however, there are certain things that you can tell when an agency is not the real thing. First of all, the one way to tell at the modeling agency is a scam, is if you get spotted on the street. Unfortunately, this is quite a common way that people get people to come in.

Scam modeling agency is prey on people's self esteem and usually go up to young girls and climb that big orders so that can start on a modeling, in a modeling agency. The annoying thing this day is that in a genuine agency, this can sometimes happen too. This is why a lot of time people believe when they are being captured on the street by this fake scams, because they feel like that carried people like Kate Moss and picked up in the street and other models like that.

I usually say to girls, if you look like a model and you picked up on the street and usually it's true. But if you are a 5 foot 5, have never thought about modeling or dark, really look that pretty on the day or someone who is asking for modelling, it could be potentially be a scam. Here is what scams honest to up to date spotted someone on the street, is that when they called you up and say that you need to come in for an interview.

When you are at this interview, they explain to you that you need to get for a valid entry then, which usually costs a lot of money. That's number two on how to spot a scam. When joining the modeling agency, you should never be called for any money, then why the modeling agency makes their money is their commission and getting it worked there for, if they are asking money upfront that usually means that they can't get you any work which is why they make money to make sure that they're getting paid.

So in an agency, ask to see to pay anything upfront is usually a scam. I've heard of things in the past where people often ask girls to purge of something like 500 pounds to make portfolios or things like this, and then earns upon later on, but this is all a scam. In modeling world, you do need to get a portfolio done and obviously you need to pay for this but most profitable agencies tell you to do this on your own but they ask you to do it for the agency, nor did they say you need to pay the agent to do this.

Another way to spot a scam is basically if you don't look like a model, and never thought about being a model or just generally they think you have a right of a model, it usually means a scam. As I've said earlier a lot of scammers choose girls with the low self esteem and use things like, “Oh! You can be a beautiful girl, you can do this, you can do that” and they prey on that. They usually prey on prey students as well because they know that a lot of students think that modeling is great way to earn as a path way of studying and it's quite true that obviously we haven't got the model look, then it's probably not genuine.

If you follow these rules, then you should be able to spot a scam. .
