Hi. My name is Charles Scott, and I'm and administrator at the pikaclub.co.

uk. I've been playing Pokemon for over 10 years, and I pride myself on knowing everything there is to know about Pokemon. Okay, this video is how to start a Pokemon game.

Now, there's many different Pokemon games out there. This one I'm going to show you is Pokemon Platinum. Press start, and you'll come up with a menu.

Now, you've got a save file, you'll find the save file at the top. If you don't have a save file already on the card, the first option will be new game. Press A on that, and it will start a game.

Now, every game will start off with the introduction by a Pokémon professor. The professor changes between each game, so depending on which version you're playing, depends on which professor you'll see, and what the introduction will actually say. This professor is Professor Rowan.

On a few of the games on the DS, you'll have a Pokemon appear at one point, on the bottom screen. All you have do is press the center button with your stylus, and out pops a Pokemon. Your first option is to pick whether you're a male trainer or a female trainer.

I then import a name. And you can do this either using the buttons, or on the DS, you can use the touch screen. I've got to pick my rival's name.

Now you can pick from a selection on the screen, or you can make up a new name for him. Now here's the choice of the 3 Pokemon that I can start with. So that's the grass-type, Turtwig.

I could choose a fire-type, Chimchar. Or I could use the water-type, Piplup. It's actually up to you.

And once you've picked your Pokemon, you're off and starting your very own Pokemon adventure.
