Anxiety attacks can be a very frightening, paralyzing part of our lives but we don't have to live with them. You can learn this quick and easy technique to help stop anxiety attacks for good.
Hello, I'm Ben Huss. I'm a certified hypnotherapist, and I'm going to show you tools and techniques to help you unlock your potential. I'm going to show you one of the techniques we use to help stop anxiety attacks.
Think of the last time you had an anxiety attack and get in touch with that feeling. What emotion is that? Where do you feel it in your body? Does it have a color? Maybe it has a shape. What is it like? Good, now while you feel that, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "don't feel it at all" and 10 being "really intense feeling", give it a number.
Good. In a moment, we're going to begin tapping certain points in the body with our fingers. So just tap along with me and say what I say.
Ready? Let's begin. So start tapping here, and say "Even though I have this feeling, I totally and completely love and accept myself. Even though I have this feeling, I totally and absolutely love and approve of myself.
Even though I have this feeling, I totally and completely love, accept and forgive myself". Now let's tap the top of the head, "This feeling," focusing on that feeling, "This feeling" side of the eye, "This feeling" underneath the eye, "This feeling" underneath the nose, “This feeling" underneath the mouth, "This feeling" around by the collarbone, "This feeling" under the arm, "This feeling". Now, we're going to begin tapping again.
"Even though I still have this feeling, I totally and completely love and accept myself. Even though I still have this feeling, I totally and absolutely love and accept myself. Even though I have this feeling, I accept, approve and forgive myself.
" Tap the top of the head, "This remaining feeling," side of the eyebrow, "This remaining feeling," side of the eye, "I deserve to let this go." Underneath the eye, "I give permission to let this go". Underneath the nose, "It is safe to let this go".
Underneath the mouth, "This remaining feeling". Collarbone, "This remaining feeling". Underneath the arm, "This remaining feeling".
Good, now take a deep breath in, and out. And again, take another deep breath in, and out. Good, now, when you think about that feeling, notice what might have changed.
Maybe it's changed shape, or changed color. Maybe the intensity has gone down from a higher number to a lower number. Any change is good.
Repeat this step a couple more times with all the tapping. And let it go all the way down to zero. And you will release yourself of this problem.
And that will help to stop anxiety attacks. .
