Today, I am going to be teaching out how to stop on a snowboard. The first thing when it comes to stopping on a snowboard is the technique being able to get very low and use the heel edges of your snowboard. It is very important to use your edges and being able to control how high and low you get.

As you get lower, you are going to slow down a lot more and as you get higher, you are going to start speeding up again. The edge of the board acts as a brake so as you are coming in, you are going to be able to really stop and pick how slow or fast you are going to want to stop. Practicing doing this, you can go down a slope on your heel edge and just get lower and higher while using the different angles of your heel edge.

After you have practiced using your heel edge on that, you are going to want to ride in and learn how to turn your board gently, keeping your shoulders parallel to your legs, again, low and learning to stop in a straight line. I am now going to show you how to stop in your heel edges as a beginner. And that is how to stop on a snowboard.
