How To Stop The Highlighting Of Newly Installed Programs

There is an option to turn off highlighted programs in the Start Menu. I will just show you the highlighted programs first. These are all highlighted because these have been quite recently installed and have not been accessed yet. But there is an option to turn this off.

Step 2: Method

There's an option to turn this off. This is useful if we install quite a number of programs and we don't want them highlighted.

To do this, we need to right click on the task bar, select properties, click on Start Menu tab, if it's not there already selected. Click customize, and then click advanced. And then where it says "highlight newly installed programs" just click the box so that it is unselected. That option is now unselected. Click OK, click apply, and click OK.

Step 3: Download Software
