How To Straighten Curly Hair

Hi, I'm Costa Phouli at Rush of the Rush Artistic Team, and I'm the manager at the NVQ Academy. I've just shampooed the hair to blow dry from curly to straight, and I'll be adding some product throughout the hair. I'll be using L'Oreal Kerastase Oleo-relax, running your hands through the ends of the hair.

I'm going to begin drying her hair to release some of the moisture. So just keep blow-drying using horizontal sections using strong tension and smoothing the ends all the way to the front and just blow-drying the fringe. Now, I'm going to carry on using horizontal sections and blow-drying back to create body.

So work at the roots first using strong tension. Work up to the mid-length and then always work in the roots first to get nicer fluid. Basically, the root is your foundation and that's where you start working, and then your mid-length, and the ends.

Work it through the mid-lengths and ends now. Then spray out from the hair. Directing the nozzle towards you creates fluidness throughout the hair.

So just finish the blow-drying now and I'm just going to polish the ends through with an iron. The key thing here with these blow-dryers is a professional hair cut at your local salon. It's very important that you do get a good haircut because it will clean the ends and get a good bevel on the ends as well.

That's how you create healthy hair. Just work in through slightly using my mid-lengths and ends, straightening through and bevelling the ends up. It's very easy to do at home, using the mid-lengths and ends and bevelling it right through to the ends to create some shape in the front.
