Taking care not to overheat the hair, you can straighten hair with just a hairdryer and a brush without a straightener. Follow Lauralyn Clinton's easy tips for beautiful straight hair.

My name is Lauralyn from the Braiding Lounge Academy, we're about to show you how to straighten hair without using ceramic tongs. Today, we're going to use the method of blow drying. Before I begin, what I would want to do is I want to blowdry the hair as much as possible.

You don't want to dry the hair with a brush from soaking wet because you don't want to end up in the process overheating the hair. So I'm going to blowdry prior to that. Now I would only rough dry the whole hair because we're only doing the second section today.

I'm going to rough dry the whole section, I'm going to make it a bit quicker for you. And I'll show you how to blowdry it straight. Now, the hair's literally almost dry there.

And it's at this stage that you blowdry with a hairbrush, okay. So I'm going to take a medium sized brush because I want it to be fairly straight. Okay, your aim is to blowdry it straight from the root so we're going to aim the hair down at the roots to begin with.

At the root to away from the head, I do that three times to underneath the root as straight as I can get it, okay. That's the third time, I think that's directly drying the water on the scalp and then you make one over the top, make sure the dryer's in the direction that you want the hair to fall, you want it to fall flat and then you can start the long stroke as you roll up the end. That way, you get it straight from the root to the tip.

To show you again, always take the section of the hair that you've already to keep your hand away from the center. We're going to roll the hair in a brush, hold it to and firm in the up position, so I come blow my root. We're going to do that three times and then one over the top all the way down.

And that's basically your blowdry done. Okay, I'm going to show you one more time. Take a section from the hair you've already dried to keep it consistent, blow the root up, this will also give you bounce in your blowdry, to make sure that it doesn't fall flat against the hair, one more up, and then we're doing the down stroke from the roots and all the way down the hair shaft.

And that's your first layer of straight hair. Those strands are going to fall in the same direction, okay. And that's how you blowdry European hair without using the ceramic irons to make it straight, so that's another without using the irons to get the hair straight. .
