Now, I'm going to show you how to do street dance. For those of you who already watched how to do hip hop dance, then this is going to be quite similar. The only difference with this one is we're going to make it a lot more commercial so all the music videos you've probably seen, this is going to relate a lot more to that.

Hip hop has gotten a lot more of an urban style to it and if you watch the other video when I'm talking about hip hop, I'll mention how hip hop very much comes from sort of New York in the 70's and 80's and its very raw and the kind of people doing it were very raw, whereas commercial street dance and street dance in general is made a lot more for the mass market, so the moves are a lot more friendly. So if you're someone who wants to choreograph for street dance, you want to make sure that you've got a lot of a sort of a friendly feel to what you're doing. So, for the moves, have a lighter sort of friendlier feel to them, whatever you're doing.

They can let you put any shape you like, keep it earthy, keep it bouncy but it has to be a lot friendlier than say hip hop which is a lot more. So if I was to give you a little bit of choreography, maybe we would have, let's say, if we start with our feet apart and we bring our hands up and we slide out, hands up, slide out. So when you're transitioning the move, it's very smooth, and then you hit it hard, smooth, hard, smooth, hard.

It's also a great way to sort of really look like you know what you're doing. If you're putting off a lot of moves and all sort of seems to keep going. It sort of looks a little bit out of control, as if you can really sort of really freeze those moves.

It really looks a lot more technical like there's a lot more going on upstairs and it really gives you a feeling of being in control of your body. So that's for the basics of street dancing. Best of luck. .
