How To Strengthen Upper Back Muscles
This Videojug video shows you how to strengthen your upper back muscles with both barbells and dumbbells but while still utilizing the same basic technique with either one.
Today, I'm going to show you a way of how to strengthen your upper back muscles. Now, a great way to strengthen these muscles is to use free weights such a dumbbells or barbells and the first move I'm going to show you using these dumbbells is called a reverse fly. So, feet and shoulder width apart, slight knee bent, bent forward at the waist keeping your back nice and flat with a slight bend in the arms, you bring them out to the sides like so.
You keep it nice and slow and nice and controlled. Also, using the dumbbells in the same position, it's called a bent-over row. So, you're like so and the aim is just to bring the weights up to your body, bending the elbows like so.
Again, nice and slow and controlled, so it's all muscle strength and you're not using momentum, exhaling as you lift them. Now, the bent-over row can also be done with a barbell. So, it's just a change in grip, otherwise still knee bent, bending forward at the waist, back nice and flat and again, bringing the elbows up.
So, to sum up, we've used the dumbbells and we've used a barbell, two different ways on how to strengthen your upper back muscles. .
