Hi I'm Joe from Soho gyms and today we are at the Waterloo site. I will be showing you how to make great muscles. Today we will be looking at how to train the oblique muscles.

Oblique muscles are muscles that run down the sides of you abdominals. The exercise we will be looking at will be the side bend. You start of with the weights in the sides of your hands, keep your head up straight and start with your back straight and lower down, trying to push the weight down as far as you can, stand up straightening and you feel the obliques working on the opposite sides.

You are looking at completing this exercises with about fifteen repetitions in around three sets. By performing these you will strengthen your obliques. Relax and bend right over to the other side and start again.

It is also important that you make sure that you do the exercise on both sides to keep yourself well-balanced, again using the same weights.
