How To String Beads
There are a number of different materials you can use to string your beans, each material having its own advantages and disadvantages. Jessica Rose from the London Jewellery School talks you through some different materials you can try.
- The difference between tiger tail wire and nylon wire, is that tiger tail wire is usually thicker and stronger; this is good for heavier necklaces.
- Use elastic wire of at least 1 mm think, so it does not break. If using 1 mm thick wire you do need to make sure your beads have a hole big enough.
- Wire has a stiffer look, but can also give structure to a piece.
