Today, I'm going to be demonstrating how to dry long straight hair just using a hair dryer and a brush. My model's hair is already straight, so literally all I did was just run a brush through with a hair dryer, making sure to direct the hair down just to close the cuticles nice and smooth. I get a nice smooth finished look.

Okay, so I'm going to section the hair into two large sections, the back and the front. What I do will literally just be to put the brush in and start drying, pulling the hair out as you go. Obviously, I'm not drying because the hair is already dry.

Then you take the sections out once the back is dry. We'll start with the top section, literally just doing the same thing. It's a lot easier to do this with a nozzle on the hair dryer, just to get a nice smooth finish.

Obviously, the model's hair is already dry so I don't have the hair dryer on. I'm literally just showing you the action. If the model has long straight hair, like my model does today, with quite long layers, I don't think there's any need to use hair straighteners on the hair because you're going to achieve just as good a look with a hair dryer and brush.

If you're getting a bit bored with your long layered style, just a few shorter layers around the front can help you change your look without actually cutting too much off the anterior. It's quite nice if you were to wear your hair up just to give you a little bit of shape and softness around the face. If you'd like to create a simple updo while keeping your hair long and straight, I'm literally just going to add a bit of volume through the top and do a half up half down style.

Just lightly backcomb sections starting from about halfway to the crown. It's not necessary to backcomb and any further than about an inch, inch and half away from the scalp. You want to leave about two inches from the front of the hair line.

Just pick up all the area that you just backcombed and lightly brush the hair back just to achieve a smoother finish. Loosely comb some of the un-backcombed hair back to disguise the backcombing. You can leave some of the hair down or take it all back, it's completely up to you. Once you smooth that off, take a couple of pins, and you're done! And that's how to style long straight hair! .
