Hi, and welcome to the Braiding Lodge Academy. My name is Lauralyn Clinton. We are going to be demonstrating some techniques on different hairstyles today on African hair and European hair.
I am now going to show you how to take out a braid. This would apply to any kind of braid whether it be a French braid, corn roll braid, a twist flat braid or a single braid. First of all, in general, if it has an elastic band on the end, I'd always advise that you cut it because if you pull it you are going to cause split ends.
Always from the bottom up, you can slowly unravel the hair. It will fall out in the same order you put the hair in. There should be no knots and no problems.
As you can see, it does not take very long and the hair is out. I will just show you again, give you another example. Always cut the elastic band, do not pull it off.
Allow it to unravel. This method would be the same for European or afro hair. Just unravel it in the same order in which it was braided.
You should have no problems, nothing sticking, no complaints. And that is how you undo a braid. .
