Top Tips

  • If you are shooting in a church, check with the priest or vicar to find out where you can and can't stand, and whether you can use a flash or not.
  • Ask the bride if she minds gravestones appearing in the pictures, some do and some don't!
  • When you get to the final venue try and find some good locations for group shots. You want somewhere with even light, as it is difficult to keep the detail in both a white dress and dark suits in bright sun light.
  • If you are responsible for the formal shots, ask the bride and groom for a list of the shots they would like taken; and ask the bride and the groom to each nominate a member of their family to be responsible for collating the groups.
  • It is s nice idea to go round the venue and get some close-up shots of the cake, the favours and any other details when you first arrive.
