How To Teach Spanish
Teach Spanish effectively with these great tips coming from a Spanish tutor.
Hi. I'm Carolina Massie from Greater London Tutors and I'm going to give you some information on how to teach certain subjects. These are the basics on how to teach Spanish.
The areas that you want to cover are speaking, writing, reading and listening. It's a good idea to start with the alphabet and break it down phonetically. For example, a b c d e f g, etc.
A good idea is to start with basic grammar. For example, verbs said that end in estar are the most simple verbs to start with. You can through them in the present, past, future conditional, and then the same thing with the three verb groups that break up into ar, er and ir, and then go through them with the different congregations.
A good way to get conversations started is by doing some role play and dividing the vocabulary into different topics, for examples, holidays, months, my house, etc. You can then look at the students' pronunciation and it's really important that you get them reading, so you get current texts suitable for their level. You can have plenty of resources online, for example, web course tools, Moodle, Bitesize, those are really useful for developing Spanish practice and finding loads of resources.
Encourage the students to read and encourage students to watch films in the language, in Spanish. Be sure to use a multisensory approach so use as many different resources as you can, whether they be audio tape, DVDs, films and books. Make sure that you get a textbook that students can work from which covers grammar and general vocabulary, and that they write down their vocabulary and practice.
So, it's great idea to give them a Spanish homework. So, these are the basics on how to teach Spanish.
