How To Tenderize Steak

Tenderizing meat can get rid of the toughness in a steak, and can make it cook quicker. In this Videojug guide Matt Kemp, chef at the Underground Cookery School, shows you how to do it.

Ingredients

  • 1 steak

Method

Wrap the steak in cling film, then hit it with a meat mallet. If you do not have a meat mallet you can hit it with a roll of tin foil.

You can tenderize other meats such as chicken or veal in the same way.

Once tenderized you can cook the steak on a very hot griddle pan.
